Here's BGMI maker Krafton’s plans for India in 2023

Krafton’s has seen significant growth in India from 2021 to 2023 as it expanded from a single game title to four. It has partnered and collaborated with local players to nurture India’s gaming ecosystem, and said that it will continue to invest in the gaming ecosystem. The company has now announced its vision for India in 2023 and said that it is looking to launch more games in the coming year.

Investments in India
Since March 2021, the company has invested $140 million across 11 startups, including NODWIN Gaming, Loco, Pratilipi, Kuku FM, One Impression and more. The company recently announced their commitment to invest an additional $150 million over the next 2-3 years.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)

Within BGMI, Krafton has delivered differentiated experiences through customisations and IP collaborations with luxury brands, gaming and animation IPs desired by the gaming community.

For India Ki Heartbeat, the docu-series, Krafton ventured into 14 small towns in India and collected 12 stories, including that of a streamer who plays with his tongue, having lost his limbs and has one of the largest followings.

Tailoring experiences for India
The launch of the Indian Faction is Road To Valor: Empires is Krafton’s first attempt globally to incorporate local culture into a global game. The launch has been received very warmly by the gaming community and has crossed 400,000 downloads in India.

Esports in India
BGIS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Series) is a tournament for amateurs and professionals and one of the biggest Esports tournaments in Southeast Asia. The offline LAN finale with a live audience is set to take place from October 12 to October 15 in Mumbai.

Krafton has also partnered with JioCinema for broadcasting BGIS, and features a prize pool of Rs 2 crore with the winning team set to win Rs 75 lakh.

Krafton will soon release a documentary chronicling the story and development of the Indian Faction in Road To Valor: Empires. It will also release an advertisement that will contain 50 easter eggs.
