Honor unviels thinnest-ever foldable, Magic V2: All the details

Honor has introduced its book-style foldable phone, Magic V2, in the international markets, after announcing it earlier this year in China. Honor’s Magic V2 takes on the likes of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Google’s Pixel Fold, two of the foldable phones that are available across the global markets.

Honor Magic V2 will be available for purchase in Europe in Q1 2024, according to the company. So far, there is no word on the availability of Magic V2 in India and other markets outside of Europe and China. The company has also not revealed the pricing as of now.

Outwards, the Magic V2 features a 6.43-inch OLED screen in an aspect ratio of 20:9, with a QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Upon opening, inside, there is a 7.92-inch foldable OLED panel with a 9:78:9 aspect ratio, having QHD+ resolution, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Honor Magic V2 weighs in at 231 grams, and is 9.9mm thin.

Honor says that the Magic V2 has a redesigned titanium hinge that promises improved durability and robustness. If the company is to be believed, this foldable can endure over 400,000 folds, equivalent to 10 years of use at 100 folds per day.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powers Honor’s second-generation foldable phone. Paired with the chipset is up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The Magic V2 runs on Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 custom skin. The foldable crams in a 5,000mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging.

The Honor Magic V2 features a triple rear camera setup, which includes 50MP with an f/1.9 lens and OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 lens, and a 20MP telephoto camera with an f/2.4 lens.

The phone has two punch-hole selfie cameras – one on the cover screen and the other on the inside, with 16MP sensors and f/2.2 aperture lenses.
