Sitting on top of the AFL ladder, the good news for Collingwood keeps coming with brothers Josh and Nick Daicos committing to the club for at least six more years.
The signature of the two stars continues a legacy for the Daicos name after father Peter played 250 games from 1979 – 1993 which included the 1990 premiership.
The news comes after leading AFL journalist Damien Barrett reported the likely signing last week on Nine’s Footy Classified.

“The discussions that have been going on for some time have it that 2029 is an ideal time frame for player, club and the connection of the two for some time,” he said.
Essendon Bombers great Matthew Lloyd described the news as “huge” while premiership winner Jimmy Bartel said the long-term deal also opens Collingwood up with the opportunity to continue to look at ways of enhancing the squad.
“We’re going to have the bump in the CBA, that comes in a couple of years, but by stretching it out for that time, while they’re in the premiership window, you can go shopping again,” he said.

Collingwood’s general manager of football Graham Wright described the brothers as “consistently elite”.
“Josh and Nick are both quality young men and talented footballers and we are looking forward to seeing them in the black-and-white stripes for years to come,” he said.
“Josh continues to impress and has really shown consistency in his form across the last couple of seasons. The work that he puts into his craft as a footballer combined with his determination to become better every day should be commended.
The secret behind Daicos’ dominance
“Nick, in only his second season and with 44 games under his belt at the elite level, is continuing to grow as a footballer.
“Like his brother Josh, Nick’s professionalism, preparation and attention to detail is consistently elite and it is these habits which will hold them both in good stead for years to come.
“Both young men are great ambassadors for our club. They are incredibly positive and outgoing people and have an openness and appetite to continue to learn and develop as people and footballers and we look forward to continuing to support that development at Collingwood.”
Josh was drafted by the club in 2016 with pick No.57 as a father-son selection, playing 96 games.
Nick was selected at No.4 in 2021 and has gone on to become one of the game’s best players in his 44 games.
