WhatsApp fixes this call quality issue with the latest beta update

With the previous beta update, several Android beta users started facing a weird issue with the calls on the platform. As a part of this, many users, including some of us at Gadgets Now started facing continuous distortion during ongoing audio calls along with a glitch during the video calls.

The issue was found in the previous WhatsApp Beta for Android update. It looks like WhatsApp has rolled out another beta version that brings a fix to this issue.

WABetaInfo has reported that Meta has rolled out the latest beta version 2.23.16.11 to testers and it includes the fix for the call quality issue. The update also appears to have addressed the video call glitch as well.

Before the update, we tried restarting and re-installing the app on our smartphone, but nothing helped. However, after the update, the issues appear to have been resolved.

We made a couple of calls after installing the update and we were able to make clear audio calls as well as video calls without any issues.

In addition to these, the update also comes with several stability improvements to the keyboard.

WhatsApp instant video message
In other news, WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new instant video message feature in the stable version. The feature allows users to create and share videos directly in chats. The time limit for the video message is 60 seconds and it is integrated to the same button that we use to record and send audio messages.

All users need to do is switch from audio to video mode and record the video messages. Tapping on the microphone icon will switch to video mode and holding the button will start the video recording.

The update is now available on both Android and iOS platforms.
