Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn performs Master Of Puppets with Metallica at Lollapalooza

Metal legends Metallica headlined the first night of Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago‘s Grant Park on Thursday.

And while the band played many of their most recognizable hits like Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters and One, they would close out the blistering set with a rousing rendition of Master Of Puppets, complete with a cameo from the Stranger Things character Eddie Munson playing on the large screen behind them.

The clip was taken from the hit show’s season four finale where Eddie, played by Joseph Quinn, 29, shreds a version of the song.

The love fest between Metallica and Stranger Things didn’t end there, as Quinn would go backstage before their headlining show and meet the band, and then jam out, for real, on Master Of Puppets.

The meet and greet and jam session was all documented in a video that was posted on Metallica’s Instagram page.

‘Hey there, I am backstage at Lollapalooza about to meet Metallica,’ Quinn says off the top of the video.

The British-born actor then proceeds to introduce himself to each of the band members that includes James Hetfield (vocal, guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass).

It didn’t take long before Hetfield confessed he’s the big Stranger Things fan.

‘I’m the big fan of it and have been since season one,’ he tells Quinn, who is more than flattered by his support.
