Rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns has pinpointed the areas the Dragons need to improve in their roster as reports emerge the club could be interested in attempting to sign David Fifita and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui.
Both men are now free agents at the Titans after the departure of Justin Holbrook, due to coach clauses in their contracts.
Johns explained he wouldn’t go for both of them, and believes the Dragons need to fix their spine.
“(Tyrell) Sloan’s at fullback, they need to keep him there; (Jayden) Sullivan, they’ve got to put their eggs in one basket there because there’s no halves on the market – whether they go left-field and go to England or New Zealand and find another half,” he said on Wide World of Sports’ Immortal Behaviour.
“(Talatau) Amone, I think eventually he’ll move into the lock position. Jacob Liddle at dummy half, I think they need depth in the dummy half position.”
“If I was the Dragons I’d be going after one of those players (Fifita or Tino) definitely, maybe not two, because the key positions, that’s where they have to fill, they need to get some class in those key positions.”
