England vs Australia Third Test, Day 1 series highlights, results and latest news; Mitch Marsh, Scott Boland likely to replace Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green; Alex Carey facing hostile Headingley reception, Justin Langer worried for wicketkeeper

Legendary former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy isn’t too worried by the three changes England has made ahead of the third Test.

England has brought in Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood in a bid to bolster its batting lineup with veteran seamer James Anderson rested for Headingley.

”I’m not a big wrap on what they’ve done,” Healy told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.

“I think they’re over selling Moeen Ali’s batting by having him at seven and Chris Woakes at eight, neither of them have played much cricket, I don’t know whether that’s strengthening anything.

“It’s not strengthening their bowling, it’s just adding a question mark to their bowling. Josh Tongue, who bowled pretty well at Lord’s, has been left out, I don’t understand that!

“Sure, give Jimmy Anderson a rest, and get him right for the next two tests but I don’t know about introducing Woakes at a time where Tongue was going alright.

“And then they all move up the batting order, I mean Harry Brook has never batted at three before.

“Look, I don’t know if that’s strengthening the batting like they said and it’s bring new bowlers in that haven’t played in the series yet.”
