Child dies and three more people are injured after fire at home in Swansea

A child has died and three others left injured after a fire ripped through a home in Swansea yesterday.

Emergency services rushed to the residence in Gonhill, West Cross around 1.20pm where a blaze had broken out. South Wales police say four people were in the home at the time of the fire, including the child who died.

A man was taken to Morriston Hospital in ‘serious condition’ with undisclosed injuries sustained during the blaze.

The other occupants, a woman and another child, suffered smoke inhalation. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Police and fire services have launched a joint investigation into the cause of the fire, which had been contained to just one property.
