A new trailer for the forthcoming fantasy series Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was released during a panel for the show that was hosted at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Friday.
In the clip, several characters from the new program were shown moving from peacetime to war as the various inhabitants of Middle-Earth clashed with each other.
The forthcoming show will serve as a prequel to both The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, and it is set to premiere on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service.

The trailer begins with Galadriel, played by Morfydd Clark, placing an empty helmet on a stack of hundreds of others situated on an empty battlefield while observing that ‘we thought the war, at last, was ended.’
Several other characters from the series were seen while enjoying the benefits of peacetime, and the Elven warrior states: ‘We thought our light would never dim.’
However, Sadoc Burrows, played by Sir Lenny Henry, ominously comments that ‘the skies are strange,’ and another character remarks that ‘the moment we feared’ has arrived.
Galadriel then touches an orb that explodes, revealing a rapid-cut montage of warfare and destruction.

Another character comments that ‘evil does not sleep, it waits,’ and Galadriel wakes up after passing out on a crowded battlefield.
A beggar then grabs a scared child’s hand and inquires, ‘have you heard of him, lad? Have you heard of Sauron?,’ to which the latter pulls his arm away.
A separate character subsequently hides in a closet, while an unidentified creature reaches up from underneath the floorboards and shows off its claws.
After a group of archers has a large piece of rock thrown at them by an unseen force, another character comments: ‘If the evil rising is left unchecked, it will take us all.’
Moving along: Another character comments that ‘evil does not sleep, it waits,’ and Galadriel wakes up after passing out on a crowded battlefield
Unspeakable evil: A beggar then grabs a scared child’s hand and inquires, ‘have you heard of him, lad? Have you heard of Sauron?,’ to which the latter pulls his arm away
Wise words: After a group of archers has a large piece of rock thrown at them by an unseen force, another character comments: ‘If the evil rising is left unchecked, it will take us all’
The clawed figure later makes its way through an encampment of masked figures, all of whom bow down as they pass through.
Galadriel and the rest of the Elven warriors are then seen preparing for battle, and she later leads a cavalry charge against a force of Orcs.
A montage of battle scenes is subsequently shown, and an offscreen character comments that ‘there can be no trust between hammer and rock. Eventually, one or the other must surely break.’
The trailer then ends with Arondir, played by Ismael Cruz Cordova, being pulled behind a set of vines by several creatures, after which the title card for the series was shown.

Development on the project began in the late 2010s, and much of the show’s creative team was brought together from 2018 until 2021.
Much of the series’ cast signed on to appear in the program around the turn of the decade, and filming began in New Zealand last year.
