Julie Goodwin takes brutal swipe at Hamish Macdonald as she joins The Project

Julie Goodwin joined the panel of The Sunday Project this weekend.

And the MasterChef Australia star was quick to put her new colleague Hamish Macdonald.

After introducing the chef, Hamish expressed disappointment that she hadn’t cooked anything special for the cast.

‘Please put your hands together for the one and only MasterChef’s Goodwin. It’s great t to see you but I’m not happy that you didn’t bring snacks’ he said.

‘If we’re getting to be colleagues, get used to that!’ Julie quipped in response, causing the panel to erupt in laughter.

‘So much nicer in real life!’ Hamish said sarcastically, but he too was deeply amused.

Julie was eliminated from MasterChef: Fans & Faves prior to the finale, when she presented a burnt sticky date pudding to the judges.

Appearing on The Project afterwards, the fan favourite, 51, was in great spirits and took the culinary faux-pas in her stride.

Asked by guest host Mitch Tambo what she has ‘against sweets’, Julie shared a laugh with the panel and simply said it’s just not her ‘forte’.

‘It’s just not my jam, so to speak. I’m a savoury kind of a cook. So you know, I do desserts when I need to… it’s just not my forte,’ she said.

‘I would have preferred any one of the other courses but you get what you’re given on MasterChef. You’ve got to run with it.’

Julie was sent home after her sticky date pudding, ice-cream and whiskey caramel sauce fell short during an elimination challenge in Tasmania.
