A music fan has captured the bizarre moment he shared with paramedics who rushed to help him after he broke his leg at a festival.
Jake Daenell, 27, suffered a fractured femur bone on Saturday when he was injured in a heaving crowd at heavy metal festival Knotfest at Sydney‘s Centennial Park.
Mr Daenell, from Wagga Wagga, shared a video to TikTok showing the moment he was attended to by paramedics while continuing to rock out to the music.
In the short clip, Mr Daenell can be seen lying on the ground as paramedics treat him after being crushed by a crowd in a ‘wall of death’.

The wall of death is a kind of mosh pit where the audience splits itself down the middle before the two sides run toward each other, slamming together when they meet.
At the start of the clip, Mr Daenell can be seen been wincing in pain but still bopping his head and singing along with a raucous tune.
Paramedics can be seen holding his leg and working to attach intravenous equipment to assist in the treatment of his injury.

Mr Daenell told Daily Mail Australia he suffered a spiral fracture to the femur bone in his left leg and was taken to St Vincent’s hospital.

‘I had a metal rod inserted to have the bone screwed back in place,’ he said.
He underwent surgery for the injury on Saturday night, and will need physiotherapy to be able to walk properly again.
Mr Daenell said he’d never been involved in a wall of death and Knotfest had been the first musical event he’d attended in some time.
He said his favourite band, Bad Omens, were playing at the time and he had ‘wanted to make the most of it.’
He said it had been ‘terrifying’ to be thrown to the ground and ‘buried by a pile of bodies’.

Mr Daenell said he was grateful for fellow festival goer Blake Hemphill who carried him through the crowed after noticing his injured leg.
He also thanked the paramedics who can to his rescue – Tim Timmer, Emma Stevens and Manil Hada.
In another video, Mr Daenell shared vision of the scene before he was crushed by revelers in the wall of death.
Under a menacing sky, the crowd forms a large circle with a few dancing in a clearing in the centre as the music builds.
Yelling can then be heard as festival-goers storm the empty space, and Mr Daenell’s camera becomes obscured by bodies before he is knocked to the ground.

Mr Daenell’s TikTok followers shared their condolences as well as their admiration for his ability to go on with celebrations despite his injury.
Some commended the music-lover for ‘Still rocking in pain’.

‘Dude this is so metal tho,’ another said.
The 2023 Knotfest was headlined by heavy metal stalwarts, Slipknot.
The line-up also featured genre legends Parkway Drive and Megadeath, along with Trivium and Swedish heavy metal staple, Amon Marth.
The festival was first announced in mid-2012 and backed up a promise of a ‘dark carnival experience’ complete with circus big-top tents, amusement park rides and drum circles made of junkyard cars.
The festival has since toured every year to countries around the world, including Japan, Mexico, Germany, France, Brazil, and Argentina.
