Notifications on AirPods: How to manage and get an 'uninterrupted' experience

Nothing can be more annoying when you receive a new notification on your iPhone or iPad while listening to your favourite music or an interesting podcast and Siri takes over the playback to read aloud the strings of message or notification you’ve received.

The feature is a part of Siri’s Announce Notifications which allows Siri to announce notifications for iMessages, Reminders and third-party apps like WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, etc. Also, the feature only works with Apple AirPods, Beats and CarPlay.

While it is a useful feature, it can be annoying if someone receives a lot of notifications. Thankfully, Apple allows users to enable or disable this feature. So, if you are looking to disable this feature, follow our step-by-step guide:

Steps to turn off Announce notifications

1.

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad

3.

Then, tap on Announce Notifications option and turn off the toggleS

This will turn off the Announce Notification completely. That means Siri won’t pause or reduce the volume for new notifications. However, Apple also offers more granular control for Announce notifications which let users enable or disable it app-wise.

To turn off Announce notifications for a particular app, head to Settings → Notifications → Announce Notifications.

Now, scroll down to find the app for which you want to enable or disable the feature and turn off the toggle placed in front of it.
