Australian actor Liam McIntyre ‘apologises’ to his unborn daughter amid anti-abortion ruling

Australian actor Liam McIntyre has admitted he ‘feels a need to apologise’ to his unborn daughter amid the U.S. Supreme Court‘s anti-abortion ruling.

The 40-year-old, who is from Adelaide but now lives in the U.S., said in a Twitter and Instagram post on Saturday that the excitement of announcing his baby news with wife Erin Hasan was lessened, but vowed to ensure his daughter ‘knows her worth’.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade, ending the constitutional right to abortion in the U.S., means individual states can decide whether abortion can be made illegal.

The Supreme Court ended constitutional protections for abortion that have been in place for nearly 50 years by deciding to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade ruling.

Power has now been handed back to individual states to decide whether or not to permit the procedure.

Women with unwanted pregnancies in America will now face the choice of traveling to another state where the procedure remains legal and available, buying abortion pills online or having a potentially dangerous illegal abortion.
