Manitoba RCMP are searching for a man involved in what they say was the random kidnapping of a toddler and 25-year-old woman.

The two-year-old and the woman were safely found after being kidnapped Friday in Portage la Prairie, according to an RCMP press release.

RCMP are now asking for the public’s help in a search for the man suspected in connection with the kidnapping.

In an email to CBC, RCMP confirmed that the man they are looking for is the same man that they said was involved in a serious incident west of Winnipeg on Friday evening.

The suspect was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and light-coloured pants. He has long brown hair and a grey beard, RCMP said on Friday.
