Great British Bake Off final: Fans FURIOUS after Sandro fails to nab a Hollywood handshake 

Great British Bake Off fans left distraught after baker Sandro Farmhouse failed to get his Hollywood handshake during Tuesday’s finale, which saw Syabira Yusoff crowned champion.

Fitness fanatic Sandro, 30, had been vocal about his hopes throughout the series, however the coveted honour from judge Paul Hollywood never materialised. 

Taking to Twitter the show’s offical account joked: ‘Sandro’s wait for a Hollywood handshake has lasted longer than Liz Truss‘ time as Prime minister’.

The politician famously lasted only 50 days in office, making her the shortest ever UK Prime Minister.  

During the episode a fan teased: ‘If Sandro doesn’t get a Hollywood Handshake by the end of the final we riot!’.

Sandro battled it out alongside Syabira and Abdul Rehman Sharif, 29, who all hope to impress Paul and fellow judge Prue Leith.

Another viewer wrote: ‘Syabira has been consistently brilliant but I really can’t call it tonight! Really hope Sandro gets his handshake!’.

While Another added: ‘[Santo has] Same amount of handshakes off Paul Hollywood as me, and I had a pot noodle for my tea’. 

And a fifth shared a funny snap of a Furby toy with a knife joking: ‘If Sandro doesn’t get a Hollywood hand shake tonight….’ 

However after a tricky technical  all three bakers failed to impress and Sandro ended his time in the series without his sought after hand shake.

One again taking to social media a distraught viewer shared a GIPH that read ‘Alright, I’m going to cry’. Captioning the post: ‘Sandro after not getting that one Hollywood handshake he’s been thirsting for all season.

While another shared a snap of a crying child adding: ‘Me realising Sandro didn’t get his Hollywood handshake when it’s all he’s ever wanted’. 

A third shared a snap of Kim Woodburn during a confrontation on Celebrity Big Brother teasing: ‘Me on my way to find Paul after never giving Sandro a Hollywood handshake’.

Winner Syabira beat off stiff competition from Sandro as well as Rehman Sharif, 29, in what proved to be a very tricky final for the trio.

After host Matt Lucas called her name, a delighted Syabira told how her win was the ‘biggest achievement in my life.’

Praising Syabira after her win, judge Paul Hollywood said: ‘Some of the flavours we have never had in the tent before and are unlikely to have again, she is an incredible baker.’

While Prue Leith shared: ‘She is creative and she is careful, she practises like anything, and she is imaginative, she just has the lot. She is a very skillful baker.’ 

Meanwhile, Noel told the cardiovascular research associate that he’d ‘never seen a baker like you.’ 

Speaking after her win, Syabira remarked: ‘I can’t believe it, honestly, it hasn’t sunk in yet. All the hard work, all the trial and error, it has all been worth it.’
