The Block stars Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra skipped the show’s official after-party last weekend, after the home they renovated in Gisborne didn’t find a buyer.
The pair instead hosted a private screening for their friends and family, who drove over from South Australia ‘in the middle of the night’ to support them on auction day.
None of the other contestants was present as the group gathered to watch Sunday night’s finale, which saw Sharon and Ankur’s five-bedroom home pass in after failing to reach its $4.08million reserve.

Sharon shared a video on Instagram on Thursday night that compiled all the highs and lows of last weekend’s auction.
It included footage from the bidding as well as various clips of the Johals and Dogras partying late into the night after the episode went to air.
There were also more sombre scenes recorded the morning after it all went down.

‘As long as we got FAMILY,’ the former Neighbours star, 35, wrote in the caption.
‘Big shout-out to my mum, dad and siblings who made a 24-hour trip driving in the middle of the night from SA whilst their farm was in threat of flooding and an outbreak of downy mildew on our vineyards, just to support us on this day.
‘Also my extended family who took care of my dog Bosco and supported us the whole way though. This is the s**t that matters.’

She then revealed her family celebrations meant she didn’t join the other four teams plus the hosts and crew at The Block’s official after-party.
‘Sad that I didn’t get to party at the after-party with The Block new fam but needed these hugs from mumma after so long! If you know, you know,’ she said.
Sharon and Ankur weren’t the only couple whose home was passed in at auction last weekend, as Jenny Heath and Dylan Adams were dealt similar cards over at House 4.
Both teams continued to negotiate with their highest bidders after the end of the auction, but as of Friday morning they are still looking for buyers via private sale.

It marked the first time a Block property had failed to sell at auction since season four in 2011 when two homes, Josh and Jenna’s and Rod and Tania’s, were passed in.
